Choosing a Community

Look for a sense of ‘coming home’

Our Congregation’s Renovator, Blessed George Matulaitis-Matulewicz, believed that a person could discern God’s will by reflecting on the following:

“God draws us to Himself and guides
us to this or that way of life through
our holy desires, affections,
aspirations, propensities,
longings and so on …”

When you first contact the Marians about a vocation, we understand that you are only beginning to explore where your heart’s longings are guiding you.

To help you explore your vocation, we will:

  • Provide you with materials and information about the Marians.
  • Answer your questions about our community.
  • Encourage you to investigate other communities.

If you then feel that your interests and vocation might align with the Marians, we continue contact through correspondence.

Personal correspondence and a vocation questionnaire help us to become better acquainted with your needs and questions, and to counsel you concerning your vocation.

The Vocation Director invites candidates to a vocation retreat. There, candidates will learn more about the Marian community, spirituality, and lifestyle. By this point, you may feel a sense of “coming home.”
